Unlock verizon imagio with custom rom

I am running one of NRG's custom roms ,can I unlock the sim from within the NRG rom or do I need to flash back to stock rom? I have unlock codes from VZ.Thank for any help

I was able to unlock my phone from the NRG custom ROM using the SIM unlock code I purchased. I was not on Verizon Wireless at that time.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.I got it unlocked tonight w/o flashing rom.It wasn't easy but got it done when no one else could.Thank again for your help.
