Windows Mobile Still Not Consistantly Seeing Imagio
My Computer still does not consistently see the Imagio in Windows Mobile. Thus I cannot sync any data from Outlook. The Computer does see the memory card but not the Imagio itself. When I bring up the Win Mob device center it simply says not connected. "About" in Win Mob tells me my version is 6.16965
Please excuse my ignorance, but with the Imagio (new) should I be running Win Mob 6.5? In that upgrade available and should it be running in order for this process to work? After repeatedly failing to get the computer to consistently see the Imagio, I deleted the partnership between the phone and the PC intending to set up a new partnership. NO GO! The PC still does not see the device. I have already hard reset the phone once already, but I am back to the PC not seeing the device. This beats anything I have experienced in my 25 year experience with PC's (hardware and software) Please help, someone. I would be appreciative Jer |

Did you install Windows Mobile Device Center? It's on the getting started disk that comes with the Imagio.

Actually, I used win mob already on the computer?? Big mistake huh? Sometimes without options so much garbage is thrown on a machine I hesitate to use the install disk. Ok, I'll start there.

Since I am not using the phone as a modem, should all the software still be installed? Or specific items? I didn't see much of a choice when the disk loaded other than to start modem link on the phone???

I have an air card that I am using from Verizon. Didn't want to tie the phone up as a modem my wife also uses it??? Air card has been installed and in use for some time now

You should have gotten 2 disks. One has verizon crap on it and the other has a user guide and Windows Mobile Device Center. pop that one in, click on setup and installation, check the appropriate box and install

It sounds like your Imagio is set up to be only seen as a disk drive by your computer.
Go to settings, connections, USB to PC, select ActiveSync (Sync with Outlook). |

Bingo! That seemed to do the trick, "Mastergadgets." I am now syncing. I don't have a clue as to how that changed. I couldn't get this off my mind nor go to bed after I looking at my lessons for tomorrow. Just wanted to try and get this issue solved.
An additional question here if I might. After installing the software that came with the phone, Win Mob still shows version 6.1. ??? Should that be correct? Is 6.5 not available, possibly not in the software that came with the phone? If not there where can it be obtained? Or is that not a real advantage at this point? Thank you again for the help Jer |
