2 very annoying problems!
 

having 2 problems that i really wish we could address here.
1)i use phone keyboard to type in xt-9 mode, but constantly find myself having to change back to it every time i open the kb-it constantly defaults to the stupid qwerty! so much that i am thinking about deleting the qwerty from the registry but not sure if it will screw up other things. open to ideas.
2) my dictionary absolutely sucks the big one. i can add words all i want, but the never seems to be there when i type. drives me nuts! is there a fix??!! i just wish this smart phone wasnt so dumm. to me there is no reason why every word i type (including contacts entries, emails, text messages and so on) shouldnt be permenantly stored in memory. i also use vicsoft clear temp to clear files , i wonder if this may be clearing my dictionary somehow. i have looked for related settings in clear temp for this but dont see any.

help me out here please folks!!

Try NRGZ ROMS! They come with swype. Its the best way to tipe faster than anyone!

which rom version are you using? stock verizon or custom (and which one)?

It sounds like you answered at least one of your own questions. You use software that clears your cached files. So if your words get cached then your software clears the cache, your words aren't there any more when you need them. I can't be sure about that one since I don't mess around with that.
