help a virgin flaher out.. ha that sounds dirty. im attempting to flash hardspl.. problem being that my pc gets internet access strictly from tethering with wmwifirouter.. so my huge dilema is: i create a wifi connection and my activesync disconnects ](*,). no combination of unpluggin usb, replugging usb, b*ttpluggin usb works. so whats a brotha to do? im starting to get the shakes from my lack of custom ROMage.

Well- there is a handy little app you can get called "Wifi Internet Sharing" that turns your phone into a mobile Wifi hot spot. It is free (the developer would appreciate your donation) and can be found here...

After installation- look in the Settings\Connections folder on your phone for "Wifi Internet Sharing". Run it. Connect wirelessly to your desktop. Open your desktop browser. Then plug in your USB cable for active sync. Should work (worked for me).
I did a quick visit to the link to make sure it was still active. He mentions that it will not create a shortcut. If that is the case -you can look in the Windows directory (with Total Commander or Resco Explorer) and run it from there or create a shortcut for it from there.

Look for CMInternetSharing.exe

or if you have an SD card you can copy the "WHITIMG.nbh" file from the ROM that you want to the root directory of the SD card and boot the device while holding power and down volume keys. That will put the phone in flash mode and it will start to flash the ROM.

But he can't flash rom's bc he is trying to do the hspl.

Cool - I always forget that method. I haven't ever tried it. Here's a question for you. What if you have a rom on your SD card - forget - and flash one over active sync?

As soon as the phone goes into bootloader it still defaults to the ROM on the card. You either have to take it out or delete it.

thanx maison! i was finally able to hspl using this! however, my celebration was short lived.. instructions for flashing specify to run RomUpdateUtility.EXE . . . but it is called RomUpdateUtily.CFG . ??? im attempting to flash energy... any ideas? ?

Yes sorry. Energy calls his file by a different name -

Imagio_SoftwareUpgrade.exe.

I will try and remember to update the help section with this info.
