New Imagio user

I'm a TP2 transplant to Imagio. I *LOVED* MightyMike and his ROMs and used them religiously. I am looking for a similar CLEAN (no frills) ROM.

So far I've tried Drellisdee and Energy and so far Drellisdee looks close to what I want. Are there any recomendations for a Imagio noob?

Have you tried the Energy reference ROM? If you want so basic you lose the HTC interface he's got the Titanium ROMs too.

energy reference is good. he needs to put up a no cookies version though.

+1 for that. Could someone who spends a little more time on the nrg thread make a request. I never post anything there so I don't think my opinion will hold much weight.

It seems logical that if you wanted a "reference" type rom - you would not want CHT. I love CHT - but my device already runs 75%-80% resources without it.

I got confused with the Energy roms, he states that "Reference" style where Sense is stock, everything is green and only basic apps are cooked in." This would lead me to think its a barebones ROM, but its not. Still has fancy wallpapers and other stuff. Its a nice ROM, but I want less - much less...

What I'm looking for is OOB experience with Manilla 2.5 (latest builds), Bing, Marketplace and My Phone... Thats it... I'll use Sashimi to load my customizations and install the apps I want.

MightyROM had a couple of "clean" ROMs that I used and had XDA_UC which worked well for me.

Energy was dreadful on my Imagio.

Brutal HARSH on the eyes and a memory PIG.

Stock ROM with tweaks performs best. too bad Imagio didnt' have 512MB ram.

YMMV.

Steve's Imagio Manila is pretty light. He has been working on an update. So keep an eye on his thread. I just flashed NRG's newest 23121 July 21st reference. And it is actually pretty light. No CHT. I boot up using only like 65% resources. that is the best I have got in a while. still have to load my stuff - so I guess that will bring it up.

Energy's Sense 2.1 I think it's July 14? is really worth a try. Really fast. It's not sense 2.5 and doesn't have cookie's home tabs but it's a great ROM if you want speed. I'd download it before he pulls it off the server.

I dl'd Energy.IMAGIO.23121.Sense2.5.Reference.Jul.21. yeah - it still has all kinds of "crap" on it. But I have used some roms that were almost empty - and they used more resources than this. I have no idea how he does it. Think of what it would be like if he would just make one without all the "stuff".

Oh well. I like the Dr's roms and am waiting to see what Steve comes up with.

i think most people are greatly over-estimating the importance of having free memory once you get off the craptastic HTC roms (and opera 10) that leak memory like it's going out of style.
just because a rom may not have >50m free at boot isn't cause for a freak out. frankly 90% of the programs that you run on your phone are going to be using less than 2mb of ram. so when you look at your % free and it's 30 or less. it does not matter!

stop caring about % free (which is near meaningless sans memory leaking stock roms) and start caring when you have less than 10m free.

im currently overclocked @ 825mhz benchmarking a HARD to process h264 video in coreplayer + ive got opera 9.7 with two tabs open on NRGY+cookie with everything turned on but stocks. know how much ram i have free right now? it doesn't matter. its more than enough and the phone runs peachy keen.

Questions:
1. How long does the battery last overclocked like that?
2. Can reference me to the utility used for overclocking? :)

im getting about 5-6 hours without charging. tho you must understand that currently there are some issues & that if your device goes to sleep, it will crash. so i have sleep disabled.

technically because the voltage is unchanged, there should be no change in battery life.

Sorry for hijacking the thread, but just a heads up. JPC has posted a new script that works great. It sets one speed on startup, then changes it to a "working" speed and then when the screen shuts off, it then sets the speed to a "safe" speed to prevent SOD.

Find it Here

Thanks Toysrme and jmart518 -- going to go fry my phone :)

Apologies for the hijack, but should be good info for a newbie, too.
