Is there a way, hack, cab, or software to alow you to set different text sounds for different contacts?

No, I have different ring tones for different people. I want different text message tones for them too. For example, I belong to a Rescue Squad and we get out dispatches through text, I want that to have a different noise/alert as what my regular text alert is.

That's not possible natively in Windows Mobile. I have read some years ago about 3rd party contact apps doing this but I can't remember/think of any right now. Search for "contact manager" apps for Windows Mobile and you may find one that does.

I used several on my previous device (Omnia). 1 that let u do that & had some other cool features as well was Panoramic Phone Genius. Check out detailed info on most available @ handango, even if u don't buy from them (may not b best price) it's a good reference source.
