Re: New Bing with Turn by Turn Directions!

Sweet! Are you able to download the new .CAB, not working for me (like usual with Bing updates). I also noticed Imagio isn't on their list :(

Re: New Bing with Turn by Turn Directions!

Whoops, just didn't wait long enough. Fired up Bing and left it there for a couple minutes and it auto-updated. Very nice!

Re: New Bing with Turn by Turn Directions!

So just leave Bing open and it will update?

Re: New Bing with Turn by Turn Directions!

It notified me after a few minutes, but you still have to push buttons and agree and stuff.

However ... I just found something out. Turn-by-turn isn't intended for Verizon. Note the lack of Verizon and our Verizon-exclusive Imagio on the Bing blog post. I think you'll have to use a custom ROM that doesn't have VZNavigator on it for this to work (for now, it won't take long for the Internet at large to solve that problem).

My friend here with a stock TP2 is quite upset. His "Navigate" button in Bing literally says "VZNavigate". He can't access the new feature at all. heh.

Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.7 (WindowsMobile; PPC; Opera Mobi/35267; U; en; Presto/2.1.1))

I'm using just such a setup and it send to work. custom rom with no navigator

Spoke to soon. I get "Directions" but not "Navigate." Stupid MS

Re: New Bing with Turn by Turn Directions!

I have to say I'm quite impressed with the updated Bing app.

It seemed pretty darn accurate...the talking directions are nice too.

Re: New Bing with Turn by Turn Directions!

Talking directions worked for you? Are you on an Imagio on Verizon? If so, what ROM are you using?

Re: New Bing with Turn by Turn Directions!

Turn-by-turn Navigation is turned off on Imagio you get the choice of: "directions" or "VZW Navigate"

This is pathetic! Anyone with a non-Verizon ROM solve this problem?

Re: New Bing with Turn by Turn Directions!

I'm using MyCleanImagio ROM (without VZW provisioning) and can confirm the new app works great, including turn by turn with voice. Sweet!

I've been waiting patiently for Google to do this for WinMo, didn't see this one coming though
