New to forum and looking to see if there has been any developments on an Android OS build for the Imagio. Bought the phone because of the GSM/CDMA network capability but hate, hate, HATE the ultraglichy WinMO OS.

Drellisdee was very active in pursuing Android development for the Imagio. He was unable to get the Imagio added to the list of devices they (whoever they are) would develop for. So it looks like it is not going to happen.

He is now buying an Android device.

Aye, I have spent countless hours trying to get Android to boot on my Whitestone. I really hope this does not turn into an informally resolved thread with everyone suggesting we give up and just go buy an incredible or something.

I bought this Imagio with a 2 year contract so I can't just up and buy another phone yet without serious repercussions (and $500 or $600 that I just don't have laying around atm.)

"What do we do to make this happen?" is a good question. There has to be an answer other than "Nothing."

The Whitestone has always seemed like the red-headed HTC step-child that nobody likes to acknowledge or talk about. Why so much hate? Is that why we're being told that "they" will never work on Android for this device?

It seems that the people who have the knowledge to do this kind of thing just aren't interested in the Imagio, and there aren't enough of us to make enough noise.

I ended my with my Imagio when I had to file an insurance claim on my phone and there were no Touch Pro 2 availabke to replace the one my kid used as a chew-toy. The Android builds for the TP2 were fantastic, I miss running Android much more than I miss my keyboard.

Now, imagio can overclock and run very smoothly. Can someone continue developing android for Whitestone? =D>

I'd cartwheel through my neighborhood in my birthday suit if someone got Android working on my Imagio. ..............sigh............ It will never happen. This device is indeed the red-headed stepchild.
