I simply downloaded the CAB from the Opera site, installed/updated it (from Beta 2), and when I open it on the Internet tab or from the Start Menu, it works. I'm using Sense 2.5, so I don't know if that changes anything. As I recall, I haven't actually had that problem since I upgraded to 2.5, so maybe I have HTC to thank. No tweaks or strange upgrade paths here.

Ah, thats probably the difference between you and me. I'm still using 2.1 or whatever came stock.

I am using a stock Imagio and did not get the error message with Opera beta 2 or 3. Sorry though- i didn't do anything to my settings. Just downloaded the .cab to my PC. Transfered the .cab to my memory card. Installed in memory and it was good to go. Did you try doing a complete uninstall of Opera and reinstall it?

Solved! The Opera Mobile Localhost/Home Error

Opera 10 looks for an HTML file named "home" upon start. File\\localhost is your phone main memory root.

All you have to do is save an html file of your choice named "home" to main memory root on your phone. It will load upon Opera 10 startup.

Filename has to be home (no extension) and it has to be html or plain text.

For now I am using a small file that produces a Google searh box. Copy/paste the following into notepad and save with filename home to your phone main memory root. Problem solved.

<!-- Google Search Box HTML Start -->
<iframe src="http://www.getgooglesearch.com/htmlcodes/searchg.html"
name="googlesearch" allowtransparency="true" scrolling="no"
frameborder="no" height = "60px" width = "468px"></iframe>
<!-- Google Search Box HTML End -->
