New theme for SPB Mobile Shell

Thank's to naong for the original skin - this a mod to Mtstmp's mod to Naong's MobileSense theme. No memory leak with this.

Alt Backgrounds in the second download - copy the vp_bkg_now.dat file to the spb mobile shell directory and soft reset.

Sweet. No memory leak?! I uninstalled Mobilesense for that reason. With my basic MS 3.5.3 I run around 51%

Do I copy just the *.dat file or the .jpg as well? New to adding my own backgrounds but this is GREAT!

Just the .dat the .jpg is for you to use for lockscreen and also preview what it looks like.

Found this new Custonization for Mobile Shell 3.5 gives 7 pages instead of 5. Tried it out seems to work fine

From the developer:
Note (Changing Custom Backgrounds on Pro Screen and other screens):
To change the Pro Background, rename the file to qa_fundotela.dat and copy to SPB Mobile Shell folder.
To change Background on the other screen (except Lifestyle and Pro) rename the file to qa_fundotela2.dat and copy to SPB Mobile Shell folder.
Always restart Mobile Shell after copying for it to take effect.

Do the following to make your own custom background dat file.
1. Rename any of the custom backgrounds in the zip file to qa_fundotela.zip
2. Unzip to a folder using the password: b0fm18zq
3. Make 2 backgrounds to use as follows:
For QVGA version (240x400 saved as Background.bmp and 400x240 saved as BackgroundL.bmp)
For VGA version (480x800 saved as Background.bmp and 800x480 saved as BackgroundL.bmp)
4. Move the 2 new background files into the folder you made in step2 (overwriting the originals)
5. Zip the 3 files back up with password protection (using password: b0fm18zq)
6. Rename the new file to qa_fundotela.dat (for pro screen) or qa_fundotela2.dat (for all others) and copy to your SPB Mobile Shell folder on your phone (overwriting the original)
7. Soft Reset your phone

Note 1: You might have trouble changing the background on the lifestyle screen. A solution provided by Degavi is to first select the image you want then go in to the spb mobile shell folder and delete the background.dat file. Restart mobile shell and your desired image will appear.

Note 2: To Backup your screens layout for future restoration. Using a Registry Editor export the (HKLM, Software, SPB Software House 2, SPB Mobile Shell, Widgets) Folder. It will back up all 7 screens and your SPB favorites contacts. BEFORE restoring your registry backup, delete the previous registry folder so there is no chance of anything being left that could interfere with your restoration.

The customization utility is free and should run on most devices with SPB Mobile Shell 3.5 installed.

There are a couple of tutorials floating around on how to do it. Look at xda in the spb mobile shell 3.5 thread. The file is called wallpaper.bmp and it is located inside the vp_bkg_now.dat file.

I am not aware of ever getting this message. Are you talking about when the phone is booting up or randomly. If you have it selected in today items unselect it.

I have a quick question and didn't care to start a different thread, how is memory usage with spb/ms right now. I've got my device running tf3d constant at about 73%, I've grown tired of Titanium its boring, Once we get HSPL of course I will be running manila, but is it worth the the in between these time to run 3.5 or should I not bother and stick with what I've got.

P.S. I used spb mobile shell on my diamond and it worked wonderful, tried a newer version on my raph and it kept eating resources, this is what sparks my curiosity.

The 3.5.3 works great, no memory leaks. but when i added MSkip Elegance enhancement for 3.5.3 i had some problems with changing the backgrounds, didn't seem to want to change right. There is a tutorial in one of my previous threads on how to change them but it didn't work the way it said, the enhancement is cool tho. had to soft reset every time before i changed background, sometimes it would change, sometimes it wouldn't. I'll keep looking for an update

It is the same one everybody is trying out, look in the manila 2.5 thread in the imagio section. It is ok, not very reliable. I would have kept it on longer but I am traveling this week. Cant afford for things to go wrong with the phone and miss messages and stuff. I will play with it some more later.

I can't right now, I am traveling so I reverted back to a b/u of our old manila because of the unreliability of the messaging. I will load it up again when I get back Thursday.

Was it from the install of Vostradamus widgets, I've had no problem at all with any thing , easy to install, widgets easy to load. are you running 3.5.3 SPB. If you follow the instructions can't go wrong. Did you put it on an Imagio, make sure you use WVGA download

why do you guys MAKE THE CLOCK SO LARGE... no offense (thanks for nothing HTC for creating this style) but it wastes 40% of the screen on something so obvious that can be always visible on status bar anyways.
