How to flash new/custom ROM on hTC Imagio tutral?
 

Hi I was wandering how to flash a new custom ROM on the Imagio once the custom Imagio ROM comes out?

Maybe somebody can write a tutral for it, And while I'm on here would like to ask if a new ROM/custom ROM is flashed on to the Imagio, would it then be fully unlocked (meaning the SIM/GSM part of it thanks...

P.S I hope somebody does wrtie a tutral on how to flash new/custom ROM's on hTC phones, and hope it helps a lot of people/noobs like me out...

well there isn't much to flashing really.
most chefs put their roms into a RUU (Rom update utility) which you run just like you would a stock rom upgrade.

you cannot flash a custom rom UNTIL your phone is unlocked. the unlocking process will be very similar to flashing a rom. just run the program through activsync and it will flash the spl.

this will not affect your SIM card unless cmonex decides to make a sim unlocker as well.
doubtful since VZW will unlock the sim for you for free.

Here is a link that may be helpful to you when we are able to do it. In the mean time don't be silly and try to flash a rom from another phone onto your Imagio!

I Am coming to an HTC device from the samsung omnia. I am not a noob to windows mobile but the flashing process you described above sounds kinda similar. We just used to use UMDL

This winmo HTC flashing and unlocking is SUPER simple because of all the developments that have been goign on for so long.

It is literally just an .exe that you run with the phone connected with active sync, or windows mobile device center, and you just press "next, next" and BAM unlocked.

Then similar process with the roms, load the .nbh file and then press 'next next" etc and you're flashed.

I came from the Omnia thinking this was going to be super geeky and tough to do but it's really not.

Cooking....well that's nothing I can help you with there, but I know you can teach me a few things in that area.

also, do you think we could create a chat similar to the omniarom.com AJAX chat for this imagio? I know it would be useful

i tryed to fallow that link and now my phone has a black screen and would not hard reset or softreset it would not do anything

I'm pretty sure you have a brick because you most likely flashed a tp rom to your imagio...
