Sync Google Calendar

I like the Google Calendar better than Microsoft, so I have imported all my events from Microsoft to Google Calendar, but is there a way to sync Google Calendar to my Hero...? Can't seem to find it if there is a way...

TIA

Re: Sync Google Calendar

Do you mean to sync from the Google site or to transfer to CSV or from device .....

thacounty 12-02-2009 07:31 PM

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 1.5; en-us; A6277 Build/CUPCAKE) AppleWebKit/528.5+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.2 Mobile Safari/525.20.1)

Select it in your Google sync options.

use the Yahoo Sports calendars. They sync just fine. Subscribe to them on the Google Calendar site.

There's a post around here somewhere....

I can't get events to show up in the calendar, I have the box checked. The month view shows a hash mark that there is something there, but when I push the day and it opens up it is blank. It only shows timed appts in day view.

On your Hero, go to your Calendar/menu/calendars, then you have to CHECK whichever calendars you would like to sync up to your device. It will NOT show the sports Calendar for some reason, but it looks like it shows everything else. I just tried the stardate, day of the year, phases of the moon, U.S. holidays, and week numbers, and they all work and show up on my device. Just no the sports... I also have my Microsoft Outlook Calendar, Google Calendar as well synced up to my Hero.

Hope this helped!

Re: Sync Google Calendar

The sports calendars won't sync, but the one thing I hate is I can only add an event on my primary calendar(you can with the others, but it won't sync). I then have to goto the normal site and change the calendar to the one I really wanted to add it to. You would think this would not be an issue and this could be easier, especially since this is Google Calendar and we are using their OS. Hopefully, this can be something that will be easily fixed in the next update.

Hmm... I'll have to look into this as I have become a bit of a quick learner on this whole calendar issue.... I'll keep you updated. But real quick, could you give me kind of a scenario of what you are talking about? What other calendars could you sync over the air besides Google calendar?

I have to update on the problem I explained above. The events are in the calendar. When I press the date in the month view, the correct date turns green, but it sends me to a day view of another day. Usually the day above or to the right of it. What is strange is that only the day I press turns green, not the others.

I think that is because you may have only the calendar checked that is colored green?

Not other calendars, one Google account with various calendars within the account. If I create an event on my primary, then it will sync. If I create an event with another calendar, then it will only show on my phone and won't sync. I can't create with my primary and then change the calendar I choose. You can only do that when working with a web based browser like ie. I hop that doesn't confuse you :) I know this has been discussed on other forums as well, but nothing has come of it unfortunately. I miss OggSync on WM, that worked like a charm ;) Which is crazy since this is their own product and it looks good, but doesn't operate as good as it should, thanks.

I guess on your device you would have to individually choose which calendar. You can change which calendar you want highlighted at any time though by going into your calendar/menu/calendars, and choose which one. Again, I have them all highlighted, and everything on them shows up on my front page calendar. Hope this helped...

I have no problem seeing all of them and it updates if I add something on the web-based side, but if I add a new event and select another calendar then it will not sync with Google Calendars even though it is and supposed to. It will be in my phone. I can add an event with my primary calendar and it will snyc, but I have to goto Google Calendars we-based and switch it to the calendar the event was intended for. It's crazy, because with OggSync on WM, I could change which calendar an event went to directly in my phone, even if was already posted. We don't have the ability to change the event to move or reflect another calendar for some odd reason. So today, I just created an event with my primary and changed it later when I logged into my computer. I hope it's a fix or change in the near future :) I know this has been an ongoing issue, thanks for trying.

Yeah, unfortunately and I always seem to get Force Closes on the calendar when I updatechange, add, something to my calendar. It will then try to sync and force close 1 to a few times and then all is good. Hopefully, they will rectify all this.
