Broken Hero - SIGH!!!!!!
 

So today I take my Hero out of my pocket to turn the volume down and notice a nice chunk missing from the volume rocker. WHAT!!!!!!!!!

I've never dropped it or hurt it, just keep it in my pocket or my hand most of the time. Took it into the store and they said it should be replaced but I need to contact the site I purchased it from (business site for corporate discounts = $29 Hero) for them to replace it. So now I get to deal with this. Just annoying and posting this more to vent than anything.

Anyone else have this happen?

Looks like a manufacturer's defect. I don't see how the heck that is possible. It looks like a perfect slice as if it was done with a razor. Good luck in trying to get a replacement, unfortunetly, sprints replacement policy on cosmetic defects isn't the same as software issues. Unless you flashed a corrupt rom and brought it to the sprint store (which would be wrong), they would give you another handset for free.

its part of the batt cover see if they will just give you a new cover.

That seems to be part of the volume button which justifies replace. Is the unit fully insured my location never fives me a problem you can always call Sprint and speak with a rep they have authority to send another unit to you

It looks like it cracked right on the line of the + sign if you look close.... thats not a good sign.

Yeah, but at least that's just the battery cover. Might see if the store has a spare one lying around.

Uh, it's on the actual volume button, not the battery cover.

Uh, take your battery cover off & you'll see that the volume rocker IS attached to the battery cover.

on mine the aluminum plate that was glued onto the back of the phone around the camera lens fell off. Called Sprint, they were quite accommodating, they offered to send me either a new back cover or a new phone. Considering I somehow got a fine scratch on the glass I opted for the new phone :)

I thought about gluing the cover back on but considering there is old glue residue it may not adhere well or with my luck I'd simply make a mess of it.

Ok, so they'll bill me for the new phone and credit me back when they receive the old one, but I can deal with that.

Sprint will take care of the issue i never have a problem. Call tehm they will ship the unit to you
