Gmail icon/widget that shows number of unread emails?
 

Is there one available? The icons for Mail (exchange) and Handcent show the number of unread. Gmail does not however.

yeah i'm looking for the samething. Sometimes my handcent doesnt show number of text either.

Hit the + button on the homescreen, go to shortcuts, hit mail inbox, choose gmail.

gmail option doesnt show up if we use the Android Gmail app. The email accounts that show with this method are those that are set up using the stock email client.

What about the handcent app? I dont get a unread count on that icon as well.

I do get an unread count on my handcent icon. Make sure you use the Android Widget of Handcent, not the icon.

awesome, thanks for the handcent information. I was not aware of that. Now only if gmail app can be fixed to allow that.

okay...seeing that there are few peeps selling an unread count widget for the gmail app, i'm assuming this functionality is not even there for the current gmail app. So no point hunting this down.

No, I'm not talking about the red envelope, I'm talking about the one that looks like the actual mailbox that sits in front of a house. I've got 2 on my homescreen, one for yahoo & one for gmail.
