New Problem With Text messages showing up under wrong contact

I am having a very strange issue with my Hero. I have had it for about a week. And have tried all solutions I could think of to fix and have searched all over the internet for someone with a similar problem. Please any help would be appriciated this is starting to annoy me into thinking of returning the phone.

I am recieving text messages under a single contact which is actually an email address for my bank of america text alerts onlinebanking.ealerts@bankofamerica.com if I recieve a text from anyone after I have recieved a text from this address all their responses show under this contact in the list of people I have current text message threads with.

If I started a thread with the person before I recieve any texts from that address then they continue to come in under the original thread that I started, but any new threads i try to start by composing a new message to another contact will be listed under that onlinbanking... thread. I am not able to respond to any texts i recieve unless i go to compose new message as all replys go under the onlinebanking thread and are returned to me as undeliverable. This is a hurge issue for me and has made my phone basically useless for texting which is something I need to be able to do as I communicate with most of my friends and family this way.

I have tried a number of "fixes" that I assumed would remedy the problem but none of them have worked. I first tried a third party sms app, handcent and chomp, both of which had the same problem. I tried deleting the thread and starting a new one with a contact and even after deleting the original onlinebanking thread once they reply to me it shows under onlinebanking....

I tired a soft reset after the problem starts still the same after

I tried a factory reset and didnt install any third party apps and once i recieved a text from the onlinebanking... every new text after shows under onlinebanking....

The problem doesnt seem to be related to anything i can put my finger on I've done everything I figured someone would tell me to do before coming here but now I'm stuck and I really dont know how to fix. Please anyone have any issues like this or any ideas on how to fix? Thanks so much for helping me out I'm in love with everything else about the phone but this is becoming a deal breaker for me....and I really dont want it to be.

Wirelessly posted (HTC Hero: Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 1.5; en-us; A6277 Build/CUPCAKE) AppleWebKit/528.5+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.2 Mobile Safari/525.20.1)

Do you have it saved as a contact?

I have had it saved as a contact and now I do not. Both ways it still puts all new texts, from people I didnt have a thread already created for, under the same thread listed as onlinebanking.ealerts@bankofamerica.com

ok I have also addressed that these text messages that are coming into my phone from bank of america are actually being sent via the "Yourphonenumber@messaging.sprintpcs.com" email address, i feel this could be part of the reason. Just wanted to get that out there as well. Still looking for any help on this one though

Can you try changing the notifications for them to be sent to an alternate email address instead of your phone's address?

I have for the time being disabled the notifications from bank of america, but I would really like to be able to have it both ways like I could with any other phone. I like to keep up on my accounts instantly with the texts from the bank but also like to able to actually communicate with my phone via text. Still looking for any help on this issue guys. Thanks

If you have a gmail account, have the bank send info to that, and your phone will alert you when you receive a new gmail email. So, it's basically the same thing.

Why not just book mark your banks website, & check your acct that way? Unless you have to check your acct every minute for some reason, that would solve the problem right?

This is what I was eluding to. If you have gmail on your phone just have your alerts setup to go there instead.

There's actually a BA app in the market which I use which is pretty nice.

And FYI, I just checked my alerts section on BA and they DO allow you to send it to an email address as opposed to a mobile address. Try that out. I just set mine up to go to gmail which I have setup on my phone.
