my only complaint against an otherwise great phone. oh well, the pics still come out better than on my pre or the TP1
Yea, and I have no idea what causes it because some of my pics don't have it. It's way better than the tp1 I agree!

Yea, maybe its interference. I may try this in diff conditions to see. No cam app fixed it 4 me. I can even see the lines in the preview.

Re:Pics taken with your Hero

I just tried in optimal temp with not so great lighting but only the radio running and had it so I don't think its interference. When I get back I'll post the pic, its really bad! Jbearamus, dig up the power of Twitter thread and we will ask @HTC #android @sprint why this isn't being addressed.

Took a few shots in Orlando last month. The night shots turned out better than I actually thought they would.

They look good when they are not maximized, maybe setting the resolution lower would mean better pictures?

Re: Pics taken with your Hero

hate to break the funny mood in here but I got a response from my HTC rep about our camera

"Camera functionality was addressed in the most recent software update for the Hero, so please make sure customers have this version. It is software version 1.56.651.2. You can check this in menu>settings>about phone. If it’s not the latest version, you can help the customer update by checking the system updates tab while in the “about phone” menu.

However, I will forward your comments on to our product support engineering team. It’s always important for that real world feedback from sales people like you. Hope you are seeing great sales success with the Hero, and thank you for helping customers get the best experience from their HTC devices!"

yeah i was thinking the same thing but this guy isn't in the tech department so i'm not surprised that's all he really had to say. all i asked him was if it was a known problem and if not if he'd pass it along

I guess in one of my pics i do see some type of lines but the rest seem fine. It was in low light.

yeah initially we were thinking it was low light or other factors but we've seen pics of low light and great lighting that still have lines

Where are the pics of "Great lighting" that still have lines? I haven't seen any.

This also reminds me of a "tip" that was posted a few months ago. Someone recommended setting the camera to ISO 800 instead of auto to make the camera faster. A lot of people chimed in saying it was a great idea. Well, the downside of such a high ISO on a camera phone is excessive noise, which you are seeing as "lines."
