Re: Close out apps
Out of curiosity: What's the logic behind this?
I could see keeping a program open for the purpose of multi-tasking, but without some sort of task manager to toggle between running programs, I fail to see why programs don't close once you close out of them/go back home. |
Re: Close out apps
Android manages the memory allocation automatically. If it needs more memory, it will close applications on its own. It works pretty well for the most part.
But, most applications will close if you use the back key, until you are back at your home screen. I did download Task Manager from the market, and I have confirmed this is true for almost everything, except the browser, phone dialer, and people. |
Re: Close out apps
The android closes apps which are unused. ive noticed it bcuz i had my aim open then started opening other apps..then after awhile my aim dissappeared.

Re: Close out apps
Be careful with TaskKiller.. I have not have problems witht he program itself however, it has a function to kill all.. When you do this your phone will reload the user interface.. This will allow you to send text messages, call people and even recieve calls. What you will not know is that you will not get any voicemail or text messages.. I did this and then I confirmed it. you will have to power your phone down and back on to allow for texts and vm to come in.. Also, you will not recieve the texts later.. they are gone to lost text land.

Re: Close out apps
You can try and kill tasks all day, but sprint navigation and footprints start right back up. The stock IM client on the other hand can be killed after a boot and doesn't restart. I have persuaded myself that nobody will be as incompetent when it comes to task and memory management then Microsoft and let android do the work.
