Not receiving Voicemail Notifications
 

First time posting, apologize if in wrong location, but will give this a try. Have an HTC Hero that was on Sprint -- rooted and modified to put on AllTel U-Prepaid. Have everything working EXCEPT Voicemail notifications. Have spent plenty of time with AllTel T.S. with no luck, they claim it is a phone problem (voicemail notification did work on previous phone). Working with stock ROM (did not want to risk changing that). Anybody have any ideas what settings might be wrong? Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Have you tried going into the voicemail app and hitting menu > compose and sending a vm to yourself?

The phone is no longer on Sprint and as such, the voicemail ap is disabled. My problem is that while the AllTel voicemail works, I am not receiving notifications that they are being left, so we never know when to retrieve them other than just be randomly checking.
