Switching memory cards. Problems. Am I missing something?

I've had a look around and couldn't find anything about anything specific when switching memory cards. I'm sure there's a topic on it but I couldn't find it.

Anyways, I have a 16GB memory card to replace my 2GB one, but when I copy the files over, switch the cards, then reboot the phone, I get 3 of my apps with "missing icon" icons.

Is there something I have to do to get the phone to recognize the new memory card?

I cannot remember if I did or not when I rerooted the phone with Gumbo.

Is this problem occurring because I am not using apps2sd?

Well, if you're switching the card and you use apps2sd then none of your apps would work.

I believe on the reroot, I didn't use apps2sd, now that I think back on it. Cause even with the old memory card in, my instant messaging programs no longer work. I'm guessing all I'd have to do (even with new memory card) is redownload the apps?

Yeah. This is a strange issue. Other than icons being weird, is anything else broken? If not, i would just re-install the wonky apps.

Yeah, it's just my MSN and AIM, and nothing else. This all happened after I:

Copied what was on the old card and put onto the new one.
Put the new card into the phone and rebooted it.
IM app icons showed up as "icon not found".
Put back in old card and rebooted phone (MSN and AIM stopped working).

I'll give it a shot later tonight, hopefully just redownloading the apps will fix the issue.

I'm going to be honest with you. That is weird as hell. I have no idea why that would happen. I would be shocked if a re-download didn't fix it.
