Serious Lag when making multiple phone calls?

Ok, just got the Hero a week ago and loving most of it. That is, this phone is great for everything but making phone calls. Hmmmm....

Anyways, here is my problem. If I make a phone call, then hang up it seems the phone goes into a serious lag mode for the next few minutes. Like it can't seem to recover or something.

Example, I call my friend, talk a minute or 2 and hang up, then go to call my boss, so I start dialing the number and nothing happens for a few seconds, then it sloowwwly catches up, but when I hit "send", it just sits there another few seconds, and either 1) dials the number, 2) goes back to the dial pad screen 3) dials another number totally unrelated, except that they both have a few of the same letters in the contact name.

So, I hit "home" and try to open up Google maps. or whatever, and you can see the icon "light up" but nothing happens, have to hit it 2-3 times before it finally opens.

Anyways, seems that the phone is locking up the phone. :-)

Other than that seems to be no serious lag, no worse than the TP2 I came from. But, I'm sold on Android now and could never go back.

Any ideas anyone?

I do remember experiencing this sometimes. It really only happened if my phone had been on for a very long period of time without me restarting it. I am thinking a week plus. It wasn't constant though, and not like what you are experiencing. Is your phone rooted? What ROM are you running if so?

I have this problem actually making phone calls and when hanging up the lag is terrible.

Yea I have to wait when I'm trying to redial a number or when switching from one app to another

I am not rooted, but trying to do it now. Using the stock ROM, but backed up one release to before they revoked the root.

Seems to come and go, the lag I mean. Most of the time this phone is really good, but other times it has serious lag. IDK.

I had the same problems with my hero....and here I thought it was the Proximity sensor app not liking 2.1....but it seems its 2.1 itself. I really miss having 1.5 on hero, EVERYTHING WORKED!!!! Never had the kind of recent problems I had with 2.1

Having experienced a tremendous amount of lag when making multiple calls, I have switched to using the hard buttons instead of the touch screen to hang up and answer calls. This has dramatically increased the usability of my Hero.

Give that a shot and let me know if that increases your performance as well.

Ditto, try using the actual buttons instead of the screen. HTC Sense must be slowing down the whole phone. I can't wait till android 3.0 comes out, I really dislike "skins".

Has anyone spoke to Sprint on this? My wife's hero has this problem all the time!
