2.1..STILL not able to sync contacts pics with facebook?
 

so after switching to the legit 2.1 update..i still can't get my contacts to show their f/book images in my contacts file..it gives you an option when u click on their pic..but once u type in their names..it still shows nothing..anyone else have this issue?

This also seems to be hit or miss on the hero...mine works fine..did u link your phone contacts to facebook contact?

I'm not running official but I've had this problem since I first flashed a 2.1 rom... I tried the strip down of the 2.1 official rom with no success. The only solution I have found was flashing back to a 1.5 rom. I haven't been able to find anything to fix this problem.

The official 2.1 was my only hope but I didn't want to lose my root access. Now that I hear the official is having problems too there is certainly no reason to "upgrade".

Please someone more knowledgeable HELP!!!!! lol... seriously

Doesn't sound like this is your problem but I want to also throw out that on my Touch Pro 2 (and this could be different on Android) I had to wait until I had all of my contacts loaded into my phone before logging into (sense) Facebook, else it wouldn't link the contact.



Go into the contact, then along the slider the "updates" section, then link to facebook. You should only ever have to do this once, as the information about the link gets saved under the contacts "notes" section. Then if you ever reset and load the contacts back in it'll automatically load everything.

were you ever able to get them? i had the issue with SOME people and found that it had something to do with their privacy settings. it happened on my diamond and hero, but it was only certain contacts

it tells me "contact not found"
some ppl have their f/book pics next the tier names..but the ones that don't it reads contact not found?

it took mine awhile to link up but it eventually did.. idk whats up with that

I know this ins't helpful, but mine sync over fine, running Fresh though not stock.

I'm running stock 2.1 and my contacts sync up fine with FB profiles and photos.

I'm using Exchange to handle my contacts and in the "notes" field of exchange I have a code that looks like this:

<FDMID>#######</FDMID><sn>id:##########/friendof:###############</sn>
<HTCData><!-- Please do not modify -->
<Facebook>id:##########/friendof:###############</Facebook>
</HTCData>

Where each # sign represents an actual number that I have hidden for privacy.

The first one indicates that this person is on my favorites list. The second one indicates that I have linked that contact with their facebook profile.

A couple of times I couldn't get the profile to sync so I deleted that code in their contact file (using outlook) and "relinked" the contact with FB and that fixed the problem. The other thing I did was after updating the facebook app, I went to the friends list via the app and scrolled through my list of friends. I didn't scroll down until all FB picture appeared on a page (sometimes this took a few seconds). That helped add a photo or two as well. Since then, I've had no problems with FB pictures in my contacts.
