Rom Development

Not a rant, just something I noticed, THANK YOU to all the great developers out there!!

Is it just me or does ROM development seem to have slowed or even paused after the announcement of the EVO? I just learned how to fudge with this phone and seem to have already run out of choices when looking for new ROMS.

Any thoughts?

BTW, for anyone that doesnt know, look here for a list of most of the ROMS for the CDMA Hero!

yeah well since 2.1 is no where in sight right now. no release date development is stalled atm. and yes alot of devs will be going to the evo and the hero will be a thing of the past, it is a slow device tbh. i made a few of those roms but i went back to using a custom 1.5 rom based on gumbo, 2.1 still has too many bugs in it.

Actually running yours too. It is sweet! Thanks for the hard work! Using V1.0 with sense

thanks, i really made it for you guys, i was never a huge fan of the 2.1 beta's and despite what other devs say the current 2.1 roms are all considered beta at this point. i believe the final 2.1 will be very much different than what we currently have. i will admit my roms turned out pretty good and bug free so far.

I like sense alot. I'm still trying out ROMS but i have kept yours for a week or so now. I usually can tell in about 10 mins if I like it. Gonna try out DamageControl too. I hear nothing but good things mostly about yours and his. Worth a shot, but I have a feeling I will be going back to yours:thumbright:

I just got a Hero last week so I guess my newbie-ness has me blinded to the lack of updates. I did, however, assume that it was just because everyone is waiting for the Sprint Official 2.1 to build off of.

And, as the rumors to the EVO release date are starting to hint at a late summer release, I'm glad I picked up the Hero, even if it is going to be outdated soon enough...just got sick of the WinMo BS...

the 2.1 roms are good but still have issues because it's not the final build yet. there are also a few really stable & super fast 1.5 roms out here too. as far as the EVO that is dropping in june, not the end of the summer unless a delay happens?

My bad...I heard later this summer but after I posted I went and started reading up on it again. Everyone is hinting at June, still, so...
