Great Battery Saver!!

Found this over at XDA and it REALLY bumped up my sleep mode battery life.

I haven't had any late text messages by running this, email *may* be delayed until the phone is reawoken. So if you care about that (I don't, I can just activate my phone if I want to check something, since sleep should truly be sleep except phone functions) then you may want to try this and have someone send you an email.

I highly recommend this!

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...hlight=Battery
Settings>Wireless & Networks> Mobile Network settings "Enable always-on mobile d..."

and also this

Settings>Location>"Use wireless networks"

Unclick both of these and welcome your better battery life while in sleep mode!

this is wrong no better battery life and the phone actually uses more battery using mobile network instead of gps!

buy an extended battery, it's well worth it.

While the extended batteries probably work great, they make your phone look really big....the HTC hero with an extended battery looks like the Touch Pro 2. The Touch Pro 2 with an extended battery looks like a weapon....Anyway if you were talking about one of those mugen or third party batteries that claim to have more mah....check this site out:

Yeah I love that review. The only way to go is the $5 cheapy 1500mah since they are about as strong as the other rip offs or pay a bit more and get the OEMs. None of this Seidio or Mugen overpriced poo
