2 Hero Questions
 

I have search high and low to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

1. How do I disable the email sound notification? I went to mail\menu\more\settings\notification settings and Email notifications are off, notification sound is off, and notification vibrate is off yet my phone still makes a noise everytime I get an email. Any ideas???

2. When you root the phone, mine is not rooted, does it do a hard reset or does it just come back up rooted? Just curious because I am not ready to start putting custom roms on it yet but there are some apps I want that the phone needs to be rooted first. For example, wifi tethering.

1) Are you changing the notification settings in both the mail app AND the Gmail app? That sounds like the problem to me.

2.No hard reset required. Also, you don't have to hard reset to flash roms either, fyi.

For number 2, the way I rooted my phone, I had to flash a DamageControl ROM to complete the root process, so if you go that route, then yes it will wipe everything you had installed from your previous stock ROM

He said he didn't want to flash a rom, so i'm assuming he wants to use either the kitchen, flashrec method, or adb.

Thanks guys, email notification sounds are off. I will do the rooting thing when I have a bit more time.
