Help with Rooting.
I am trying to root using flashrec-1.1.3-20091107-2.apk and when I do the backup it says backup failed, image is invalid. What do I do? I have rebooted the phone and it still does not work.

Re: Help with Rooting.
I highly recommend manually rooting following the instructions here.
http://androidforums.com/all-things-...-tutorial.html Simply follow steps 1 - 9 and you will be done in no time. Good luck! |
Re: Help with Rooting.
All,
I have to my knowledge hopefully rooted my phone. I have not flashed to the 2.1 upgrade, but I can get to the recovery screen and it says now says build 1.6.2. Does this mean I am rooted? If so how exactly do I remove the unwanted apps? So far I have only been able to mount the sd card not the root. |
Re: Help with Rooting.
Can you get to the shell as su from a command prompt?
If you want to get rid of apps, try a stable rom, such as DamageControl 2.06 or 2.07.2. I am currenly running 2.07.2 and everyting is working 100%. The only issue I am having is that the Engadget app crashes ocassionally. Be very cautious removing apps as they may have shared components with Sense programs. You could break lots of things. |
Re: Help with Rooting.
I have the Fresh 2.0d 2.1 is that a stable rom?
