No incoming calls, text or Vmail.
 

One day i stopped getting incoming calles text or vmail. however i was able to still get all my email and i was able to call out and send out texts. i brought my phone to sprint and they had to replace the phone. They told me that the Advance Task Killer which is why it happen. then i downloaded Advance Task Manager and i stopped getting incoming texts and calls again. i removed it and now my phone is fine.

Is anyone else having this problem? i want to know what i can do to keep the Task killers.

First need some info.. like are u rooted? What rom are u running? etc..

I use Astro File Manager, which has a task killer in it. I have no issues with it. Also, what processes are you killing? You really shouldn't need a task killer, if you back out of apps, using the back arrow button.

If you are rooted try autokiller... works great. Or flash Fresh 2.0d, since Flipz already has the app in the ROM.

I would go in depth but this has been covered way to many times. Task Killers aren't needed for our phone. They *WILL* make your phone run slower. As stated above me Auto Killer is your best bet if your rooted. Otherwise leave the phone as is and it will run fast than with a task killer I promise :) Use the search feature of this site if you don't believe me :P

Well im not rooted. and im running the latest rom. i havent done any updates to my phone. ever since i removed the task killer my phone has been fine. and my apps are still running in the background i used the browser 3 days ago and i was still login to a site i was on.

Any task killer/manager just killing all your apps is going to keep you from getting texts/calls/voicemail. Don't use them.

EDIT: Back out of apps to close them. Some have this feature some don't.

Flashed the Gratia port from [ROM-DEV] HTC Sense Froyo Android 2.2.1 (Devs only) - xda-developers and then in an attempt to restore back to stock ran the RUU_Hero_C_Sprint_1.29.651.1_signed_release.exe.

After the official RUU for 1.5 no incoming text's, calls, network location, or network time.

Solved: :razz:

Not sure why but the official RUU are changing something besides just the bootloader, recovery, system, data, boot, and nv(misc) data. I have tested this several times and when you update to 2.1 official then attempt to downgrade to 1.5 build 1.56.651.2 using the official RUU something isn't restored correctly.

Here's what I did, found the RUU_Hero_C_Sprint_1.29.651.1_signed_release.exe and ran the update. Now back to normal and still rootable. :toothy7:
