email send & receive issues HELP

I have noticed that my Hero will stop receiving yahoo email. I have the schedule set for every 10 minutes and it will work for aobut an hour and then it will stop receiving. So for the 1st hour it will check for email every 10 minute and then it stopes and will go for hours without checking again. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Re: email send & receive issues HELP

All,

I can receive mail manually all day long, but I have it set on 10 min schedule and it was only part of the time. Currently I am looking at my phone it it has been 2 hrs since it last refreshed. I understand that there are othere programs out there, but that is defeating the purpose. Is there a way to fix what I have instead of downloading a new program?

I have seen a fix for Yahoo email issues... but I since I do not use Yahoo I cannot remember where it was. Have you tried searching these forums or a quick Google search?

You can always forward all of your mail to your gmail account this way your mail gets pushed to your phone as soon as it arrives. In your gmail settings you can set which email address to use (yahoo or gmail) when replying to people via your phone or on your pc. This is what I do with my hotmail. It's free push email, why not take advantage of it? Instead of wasting battery (actually a lot of battery) syncing your mailbox every 10 minutes... My 0.02 atleast. Good luck.

Or you can try these custom settings when setting up the yahoo email account on your hero:

Go to manual setup > IMAP account and change to these settings....

Imap server - imap.mail.yahoo.com

SMTP Server- smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com

Works fine but doesn't give a new email icon like gmail simply overtakes the email icon.
Or this one:

I use the below settings; have seperate shortcuts on the desktop & different ringers. I have 3 email accounts 1 exchange, 1 yahoo & 1 gmail. They are all seperate, sometime the Droid will combine the first two if I get multple emails together, but they will be kept sepereate.
Imap server - imap.mail.yahoo.com
port 143
SMTP Server- smtp.mail.yahoo.com
port 587

I did what you suggested, but when I send mail it comes from teh gmail account on behalf of @yahoo.com. Do you know how to remove this so it only shows @yahoo.com?

Re: email send & receive issues HELP

Log into your phones gmail account
At the top right of the page click settings> accounts and import tab

Two colums down it says:

Send mail as:
It shows the list of email addresses gmail can send your mail as. If your yahoo email isn't on here click "Send mail from another address" and set it up.

And under that it gives you two options, select the first one or change your default email address to your yahoo email address to always use yahoo to reply to any yahoo or gmail message you recieve.>
When receiving a message:
Reply from the same address the message was sent to
Always reply from default address (currently ______@gmail.com)
Hit Save.
