from fresh 1.1 to 2.0b
 

Okay for some reason fresh 1.1 keeps coming back onto my phone.. first I did a back up, I then loaded fresh 2.0b and then reboot and bunch of force closes and backgroubd stayed on " fresh " .. I boot into bootloader and restore and it looks like fresh 1.1 again? Should I delete 1.1 of card and lve 2.0 on or does that not matter? Thx guys

i think you have to wipe before you flash to fresh 2.0b

nope didnt work it works if i dont do restore but i need my pics and apps and junk =(

Are you doing a nandroid restore? if so, that is precisely the problem.

Well, when you nandroid restore, you completely restore every app, text message, system file, configuration file, and framework binary from when you backed up. Its not just backing up your contacts/sms/emails, its literally taking a 100% complete snapshot of the entire operating system. when you restore it, its like whatever you did after the backup never happened.

oh okay thanks man so how would i do it so that only like apps and pictures and contacts stay backupd up? idc bout texts and configuration files really

pictures are on the memory card, they will never be deleted. apps, i use astro file manager, and contacts are backed up on google's servers, provided you have a gmail account.
