Wireless tethering kinda working?
 

I am running Gumbo 1.5 full and I just tried wireless tethering for root usersfor the first time today, I can connect to the phone but I get no internet. My Up numbers change but my Down number stays at zero. My computer says I'm connected to an unsecured computer to computer network. Can anyone help? I've searched a bunch but I haven't run into a solution to this problem.

Did you uninstall it then reinstall that one and reboot?

yeah, I should have said that in the first post, I downloaded both versions from that site after trying the one that was already in the rom.

I had a similar problem the first time I flashed a custom rom. I was never prompted by su when running wireless tether (and i didn't know at the time), but it would still connect I just wouldn't get any internet access.

After that I went back to stock, then back to fresh and haven't had any problems since.

If it's possible, I'd try reinstalling Superuser Permissions, and if that doesn't work just re-flash.

Yeah, I just reflashed, same problem. Wondering if I should go back to stock and flash again, I just finished linking all of my contacts to their facebook page... ugh.

Hmmm...

I wonder if it change anything by uninstalling and then reinstalling Superuser Permissions?

Did it prompt you when first running wireless tether?

I see that there's "Superuser whitelist" in the market, but I don't know if that's the same thing.

You can do all at once from people updates tab. It will show you the suggested friends.

yeah, I just never backed up my contacts to begin with. So, I've unrooted, re-rooted, Installed everything again and same thing.

I can't speak for Gumbo, but I know that with his Kernel it has SMS issues and I can tether with Fresh.

Yea another guy and I don't get some SMS that are sent to us. They just don't show up. When that kernel isn't on there they work.

Yikes! I just got a new hero from sprint because of that issue (non rooted). Thanks for the heads up.

Hey I am having the same issues as Jark, and am running fresh1.1. I have tried installing wifi tether 1.7 and still no luck. I don't get it, I was using 1.6 just fine the other day.... I am re-flashing fresh1.1 now to see if this clears it up.... If it doesn't, I will try the unroot, then reroot

YES! a re-flash of Fresh1.1 fixed my issues. It wasn't giving me Super User Permish, so it is fixed now!
