well they've already started talking about the next updates with rumored names of "Froyo" and "Gingerbread...so we will be way behind even after we get the 2.1 update I"m guessing.

Also weird is that we went Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread...alphabetical order...

I think it's time for me to leave sprint and get more access to GSM phones that have quicker update paths...

Correct me if i'm wrong but there has not yet been an update to any GSM Hero to anything beyond cupcake either.

Someone over on Xda said that Htc Rep said that sprint will get there 2.1 update Feb 22. SO lets hope!!!!!

I hope that is the case but it looks like we are looking more at the end of March early April..

I can't agree with you more. But also we need to stay away from Android phones by HTC. It's all that Sense garbage that is holding us back.

Would love too expect all of the GSM providers in my area suck worse than sticking with Sprint and old software

yeah im disappointed hero didn't get the new google maps 4.0 yet. i hope 2.1 comes soon. i have this sick feeling google is going to treat all android phones like an ugly step child to the nexus one. :disgust:

sorta like palm is doing to the pixi compared to the pre.

I completely agree, pretty ridiculous that everything being released lately has been needing 1.6+ and I'm stick with 1.5. Should be soon... hopefully.
