help rooting.using flash rec method..one click

After successfully completing every direction with the flashrec method on my sprint htc hero, I get the triangle-exclamation point when attempting to access the recovery menu at startup.

trying to figure out what went wrong.. im sure its something simple..lol

Something is wrong with ur recovery you r flashing. Format sd card, reboot phone, ensure usb debugging is enabled and do it again.

LOL dumb question but how do i know if its rooted? im just rooting to get wifitether..for the moment.. i went through the steps again but this time.. held down home and power button.. did a nandroid back up.. so im thinking im ready to install a custom rom now?

If u used nandroid ur rooted! U can search shootme in the market and try that screenshot app it only works on rooted phones. Get the pink one its better and its useful 2 keep. Go fresh, uninstall WiFi tether and reinstall 1.7 pre for hero to make it work. Google will lead u 2 WiFi tether download page.

I thought you said you used Nandroid? Ok...

Get the pre-kitchen from geekfor.me and use the one step auto rooter. Flipz made it and he is pretty good with it.

lol ya it did a nadroid back up.. from when i held the home and pwer button to start the phone back up... i even see the nandroid folder on my sd card like it did the full image backup..

ive tried that shootme program. and the tether program.. both say i need to be rooted.lol plus my coffie is wearing off. so im prolly not understanding things right,lol

Wait, I know the problem. I don't do the one click or the flashrec method I just hear they are easier. You need to flash a rom that IS rooted. Haha. Get Fresh from geekfor.me and flash it.

lol k finally got it rooted..using the kitchen method.. performaing a correct nandroid 2.2 backup then gonna test out the shootme app and wifitether etc.. finally lol
