Here is my first attempt at a custom taskbar for the hero. So far ive customized the battery and signal icons.

next update will have sound, EV/ 1x icons and wifi icons customized.

I really like the signal bar.

Adding some color to future versions would be sweet! Nice start.

i personally like having simple white icons, but can make a colored version as well.

Thanks Setix! For the record, I dig the clean (plain) look. Just what I was looking for. However, when I install your taskbar, it reverts my lockscreen to the stock one. So, I reapplied the Evil Transparent lock screen, and it reverted the taskbar to the stock one. Is there any way I can get your taskbar with the transparent lock screen? I'm a little confused! :)

Thanks again.

im not sure why its changing the lockscreen. the install zip only changes the framework apk files, and doesnt touch htc lockscreen apk.

check with fresh

Its the kitchen. I used it to change my bootscreen and load the original menu bar. Before that, i had completely removed the HTC lockscreen apk, but after using the kitchen, the call anser reverted back to how it was before the lockscreen was renmoved. What curious about it is that my lockscreen itself didn't change. Strange occurences, but i can assure both of you its not the menu bar that is the culprit. I intend to investigate further now that i am getting comfortable ripping android apart.

Setix, if you'd like any help with the theme, i'm pretty competent in many respects. I'm an art major with a lot of design under my belt and i'm also a hyper-nerd.

I'll ask him about it then....though it looks like Brad might figure it out.

Actually, is there any way to install it as an update via recovery mode instead? I tried to do so, but it gave me an error. Can't remember it exactly. Something framework related.

Thanks for looking into this! I also noticed that the transparent notification menu/drop-down is now back to stock too. I'm running FreshROM 1.1. I guess I should just restore my Nandroid backup and try this one step at a time. That way it's easier to troubleshoot.

Just noticed Flip released v.2 of his Pre-Kitchen. I'll give it a try in the morning and see if it fixes this issue.

I Just tried to change the to stx taskbar using the Fresh Prekitchen v.2. It reverted the lockscreen and notification pulldown to stock.

Re: STX taskbar v.5

Got the following response from Flipz over in the pre-kitchen thread:

Quote:

The reason that happened is because parts of the lockscreen, the taskbar, and the notification menu are all contained in the framework. So when you flash one, it is going to replace the others every time. I have a plan worked out in my head for the kitchen on how to get around that and build your own custom framework with whatever pieces and parts you want... but it's just not there yet. It would also require theme makers like setix to make their theme in a special way. So it would require them to do extra work, but would allow you to modify it exactly the way you want.
Looks like that means all this tweaking is a little more complicated than expected. Setix, any chance you could make your taskbar, but with the transparent lockscreen and notification bar? If not, no worries. I'm willing to wait till this gets sorted out.

Like i said, man, if you want help with the graphical aspects of anything at all, no matter how small, i'd love to be a part of it. I'm a huge fan of your work (because, if i took the time to do EVERYTHING myself, i'm conviced it would look eerily similar to the things you would make) If not, i'll get off your back about it :) Hit me up on gtalk, pm me, or whatever other means of communication you desire if you're interested.
