Help with Calendar Widgets
So here's my problem. I've had my Hero for about 20 days. For the most part, i'm loving it (aside from the dust behind the screen). I've discovered a bug that is absolutely killing me, and i don't know how to fix it.
On my home screen, i have the Sense flip clock and the HTC Calendar Widget that is one line tall and the width of the screen. For some reason, this calendar widget cannot seem to get notification and dates right. It drives me crazy when i'm looking quickly to see what's on my calendar. As an example, today, it says December 30 (as it should) and then says "Tomorrow: All Day, New Years Day", which is clearly wrong. i tried switching to the Android Calendar widget, and woke my phone up this morning to discover that it still said it was Tuesday the 29th. So i don't know what on earth is going on. I'm running Fresh 1.0 (de-freshed) and am desperately looking for a solution. I may flash back to stock to see if that fixes anything. Anyone else seen anything like this? |
Re: Help with Calendar Widgets
Check under settings, Date & Time, and make sure the checkbox for Automatic is checked. Not sure if that is your issue, or not, but it's something to check.

Re: Help with Calendar Widgets
Mine did the same thing... I kinda gave up. The full page calendar widget shows the correct date, and puts tabs on the correct days for holidays.
I decided to get by without it, but am having the same issue, and am curious what the solution is. |
Re: Help with Calendar Widgets
For whatever reason, I think this may be a more general problem associated with calendar widgets.
I solved the problem by switching to "laik agenda widget" from the marketplace. It has an option to "add one day to all day events", which gets things on the correct schedule. It has a number of display options and sizes as well. Its free, give it a try. |
Re: Help with Calendar Widgets
I've been doing some more research online. It looks like this may be a widespread HTC problem, and not an Android / hero problem. It looks like it may be related to All Day events only, and has to do with where the widget is pulling its data from.
Frustrating that it hasn't been addressed though. |
Re: Help with Calendar Widgets
I ditched the HTC calendar widget for CalWidget (available in the market). It offers much more flexibility.
