Hello i dont have a HERO but was wondering if Hero announced incoming calls. My friend swore it did...But i didnt think so? Can someone clarify that for me?

Well....the phone has ringtones....it has caller ID. Does it say "the Lord and Lady Douchebag" when someone calls, then no it doesn't announce incoming calls.

Any phone that doesn't have some form of 'notification' when being called sounds like a answering machine. or a beeper =3

I think the OP means announce their name or number. Coming from the samsung rant, there was an option on the phone. But guess what? There's an app for that! :cheers:

could you not use the voice recorder and say the name then assign it as a ringtone?

dallas, are you talking about google voice? if you install the app, there's an option to have it take over all calls. if someone calls your google voice number, the call is screened and unknown callers (or callers you've flagged to do so) are forced to "announce" themselves by stating their name.

i do know that the hero has an option to automatically send certain callers to voicemail too, but that's about where the overlap with google voice ends.
