Unofficial Movie Thread
I wanted to create this thread for those who are using their Hero to watch movies. I hope that this thread will be useful for those who would like to use their Hero to watch movies. I don't want this to be a flame thread or a place where people argue over which program to use to view movies, which program to use to convert movies, or which headset is the best. Each uses what is best for them and that is what I would like posted for others to get information from. Here are my settings and they give me a very watchable movie without pixelation or sync issues. I also boost the volume just a little since I no longer use headphones with inline volume control.

Re: Unofficial Movie Thread
I use Magic DVD Ripper?? I only use WMV for PDA which rips the movies in smaller wmv formats. Hero only views WMV9 PDA. You can buy it for like $30bucks I think. I love it! All my movies are 500mg or less, and spectacular quality!

I've got a long road trip coming up with the kids. Since they have the in car dvd player I'll try this out to catch a flick or two. Thanks |
Re: Unofficial Movie Thread
I've been using WonderShare and will post my current settings when I get home, but will try ElAguila's settings and see how they turn out. Always looking to better the outcome ;)

Re: Unofficial Movie Thread
I have not tried the WMV format for the movies. I will try one and see how it compares to the mp4 formatting. The program I have will also convert to 3gp and flv. Does anyone know if these formats are playable and if so how do their size and quality compare to the mp4.

Re: Unofficial Movie Thread
I have just intalled the A1 movie player. I will use it and then leave a comparison with the meridian player.

Re: Unofficial Movie Thread
Any video converter, super and media coder have worked well for me...
Any video converter is the easiest...I normally just change the resolution but I match the settings (fps, sound format) as close to the original as possible. |
Re: Unofficial Movie Thread
Does Android/Hero have any kind of media player that will accept uncoverted video in xvid format yet?

Re: Unofficial Movie Thread
As far as I know the only codecs it has are mp4 and 3gp. There aren't any codecs for xvid/divx. I am hoping 2.x will have support for them.
