wifi tethering am i missing something ?
 

Im runing fresh 1.0 when i open wifi tether everything seems ok . I hit start tether start screen comes up for a few seconds then screen is black and says. SU request at the top , i never the see network show up on my computer. Am i missing something here ?

On this screen, did you allow it SU permissions? There should be a grey botton on the lower left hand corner alowwing you to do this.

I dont see any buttons . There is a gray bar at the top that says SU request the rest of the screen is black

Try reinstalling the app, that screen normally has 4 button selections on it.

great thanks that seemed to do the trick ..it was strange that the version on the 1.0 fresh rom wasnt working

i didnt know if it was only related just to fresh 1.0 bc i had the same problem when was running fresh 0.7 . simply reinstalling corrected it

I also had this problem with the Fresh rom and the wifi tether app. You get that screen because USB debugging is not turned on. If it was you would get a menu asking you to allow the app super user access. So, instead you get the black screen with "SU Request"

On my hero I didn't have to reinstall the app. Just go to:

Menu > Settings > Applications > Development > switch on USB debugging
