Is it just me or does the T-Mobile stock rom really blow? What's your experience with it? Is there a better rom to upgrade to? How can we get an upgraded copy of slacker radio and why cant we upgrade from the stock rom? Why does swype lag so? I have many, many complaints. However, I won't bash such a beautiful device so hard because of a crappy rom.

The stock rom imo is one of the best stock roms I have seen on a device. The rom is very smooth and fast. I had no lagging when using swype, but don't use slacker so don't know what is going on there. There are many custom roms available that you could try, as far as them being better, that is up to your personal opinion. Unlock and start flashing to see what you like.

you might have a bum phone, because i use swype and slacker and haven't had any problems.

Are you making sure that programs are not running in the back ground from time to time. Most things will not truly close with the X they will just hide or collapse, remember we have multi-tasking.

So when you go and use something every once in awhile go into task manager and stop them from running once you are done with them.

I agree with lwrd. aside from the mogul this is the only phone I haven't immediately slapped a custom rom on right away.

I have touch x installed to allow me to truly close programs so they aren't running in the background. This is actually my second HD2. Got the second on only 2 weeks after getting the first. My dialer was crashing the phone for some reason. Of course no one at tech support could figure it out. I did a few hard resets and the problem still existed. TMO was eager to get a new device in my hands... Can't argue with that.

anything
seriously its my second computer its my mp3 it plays game (pangya I am addicted to on it) and something nice to look at...its my ebook reader, its my apple deflector
it shaves me it helps me wash the dishes it does my hair
it even gives me entertainment I could only get from lewd places in shady alleys

I agree with the mentions of the stock ROM being GREAT for a stock ROM. I think it's the best WM stock ROM I've ever used. I've moved to EnergyROM, because I always use EnergyROMs :) , but the stock ROM is very good.

If we had no custom ROMs, I would not be crying much.

Best stock ROM I've used bar none. And I have used a LOT of WM phones :)
OP - just make sure you install some sort of task manager and close out of your programs when you're done with them.

I too am using my phone for pretty much everything. I flash a different rom about once a week and all have been great in their own right but the stock rom itself could have handled everything.

I am surprised their is so much love for the stock ROM. This was the first phone I've had in a while where I wanted to flash after using the stock ROM for one day. Too many weird little freeze ups and the screen not responding to touches.
