HTC HD2 in Canada - Fido

Hello everyone

I used to be a PocketPC and Windows Mobile user and then I moved to iPhone 3GS. While iPhone is a perfectly capable smartphone, I want to get back to WM as I feel it is the best for me

I'm looking forward to get a HTC HD2 phone. I know the North American version is coming out soon in US from T-Mobile so I have few questions:

)Does HTC HD2 work in Canada and Fido service provider?

)If so, will the internet be EDGE or 3G? On my iPhone 3GS, I have access to 3G

)Does the US version have any advantages in terms of speed and capability over European HD2? Is more memory make HD2 a better candidate for Windows Phone 7 Series Upgrade?

Thank you all in advance for your help

If you are using a Iphone on Fido, the HD2 will work. 3g wont since the att and tmobile bands are different. more ram and rom will make the hd2 a better candidate for window 7 series as microsoft has said the phones coming with 7 series will have at least a 1gb of ram and rom each.

Thank you for your response

So do you suggest I wait for the North American T-Mobile HD2 and skip the European HD2 version?

I think the T-MO version is the better way to go personally, you get more ram, rom, and the 16gb memory card for the same money if not less (pricing still hasn't been announced). The only drawback I can think of immediately is no 3G. Take a look at the spec sheet for the european HD2, t-mo HD2 and then the IPhone 3GS...on that compare the 3G bands and see which supports what and what band Fido uses. Comes down to what you want, more memory or faster internet speed in the end.
