Re: HTC HD2 on Sprint network??
I would try another provider but Im not willing to pay $80+ a month for mobile service when Im still on the SERO plan for $30 a month :)
I might have to cave in eventually since im not to impressed with the sprint phones. |

Re: HTC HD2 on Sprint network??
Thats what i have right now. The TP2 with mightyrom on sprint. I love it. But I love the speed and bigass screen you get with the HD2.
Either way Im doin fine ;) |
Re: HTC HD2 on Sprint network??
I'm in the middle of my contract with Sprint, but I will jump to T-Mo the very next second after they're releasing the HD2. I have resisted the temptation to go to Verizon for Imagio, just because of this upcoming magnificent phone.
Sprint deserves to die right now, they're just a greedy corporate network that doesn't care about their users demands for new phones. I don't care about their stupid SERO and cheap plans and alleged speed, I live in the big city so whichever carrier works for me. They're still selling obsolete "smartphones" at ridiculous prices and spend millions on obnoxious web advertising, die mother****ers! I really hope this network will go bankrupt and disappear forever with their stupid Wimax thing they're boasting and testing for years but never released. |

Re: HTC HD2 on Sprint network??
wrong on so many accounts.
1st off obsolete smartphones? the htc hero, palm pre, and tp2 have been in high demand since release. calling them obsolete is downgrading your tenure as a "geek". 2nd off WiMAX/4G has been released and is in full effect in over 10 MAJOR States. Montana is not a MAJOR state. Austin, Dallas, Baltimore, Seattle, are MAJOR contenders. Get off your high horse and read before making accusations which are all false. you will never get a high reputation without reading first. Quote:

Re: HTC HD2 on Sprint network??
Dude, I've seen them all - those phones.
Palm is a dead brand/OS already, Hero looks cheap and like all Android phones they're for beta-testers - I would carry one of those only if they pay me. Maybe in two years from now. As for TP2 - slide-out qwerty keyboards are for teenagers and for retards like you. Get out of your hole and watch the trends: big-screen rules! Ipad-esque. A powerful WM phone 6.xx it's all that I need, and I can do everything with it with the current existing apps. As for WIMAX: 1)there are no Wimax phones yet, since we're talking about phones here, right? 2) moving to performance per se, Sprint boast it's just bullshit. Upgrade is long overdue and way overrated. Real tests indicate that HSPA+ beat the shit out of Wimax, where available. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2359139,00.asp 1Gb processor on t-mo's 3G HSPA will also likely compensate and add to speed. So don't rush into an argument before double-checking the facts, and I'm not looking for your appreciation or any reputation, I was just speaking my mind out. |
Re: HTC HD2 on Sprint network??
The HD2 specs list WCDMA 900/2100 as part of it's Network Bands. Wouldn't that be compatible with Sprint?

Re: HTC HD2 on Sprint network??
Sprint will not allow any phone on their network that isn't a Sprint branded phone. Countless people tried it when I worked there and no one was successful. It isnt as simple as unlocking the phone then changing the sim card. All Sprint provisioning settings have to be loaded then you have to have the ESN added to the Sprint database which is something that they refuse to do.

wow i didnt know that.. i moved a sprint phone to Verizon.. no prob.. |
Re: HTC HD2 on Sprint network??
Verizion is not as restrictive when it comes to adding phones to the network. I tried having 2 added into the database of sprint while working for the company and got nowhere.

Re: HTC HD2 on Sprint network??
Sprint is getting the HTC Supersonic. Basically an Android version of the HD2.
|
Re: HTC HD2 on Sprint network??
I don't want an Android version of the HD2... I want windows!!!!
Dam-it!!!!! JP  |

That is low Dude!!! I'll move to Tmobile when they get "Any mobile - any time" like Sprint.. Have a good day ..SIR!!!! JP :thumbright: |

They should change that to "any of OUR mobiles.. any time..." lol |

But yes I hear you - any mobile anytime would be nice on T-Mobile. Since I got that plan on Sprint, it feels like I use almost no actual regular minutes. So the plan will cost a little more on T-mo, but it's worth it to have the HD2 and faster downloads imo. |
Re: HTC HD2 on Sprint network??
I have play with the HD2. It is a nice phone with big screen. I just wish the graphic resolution is higher.
|
Re: HTC HD2 on Sprint network??
Iono if anyone has said this but are u SURE that u cannot unlock this to Sprint? I had the Touch Pro 2 bought @ sprint and it was unlocked for tmobile as well.. These phones use SIM cards even though they are on sprint... So i think u should check into that!!!

Re: HTC HD2 on Sprint network??
Guess what. This is a moot point now that Sprint got their heads out of their asses and are going to release the EVO. A much better version of the HD2.
Thread closed.. lol |

2. How do you figure that the Evo is a "much better version of the HD2"? They run different operating systems. The ignorance in this thread is epic :) |
Re: HTC HD2 on Sprint network??
Well thank you so much for pointing that out. ill sleep better knowing that...
|
Re: HTC HD2 on Sprint network??
we will definitely be seeing an HD2 on sprint (although most likely renamed to something else) but expect the phone to have better specs than the GSM version.. my guess is at the end of this year we'll see it.. you can count sprint is going to get a super high end phone with its 4G wimax on it.. can't wait!

Re: HTC HD2 on Sprint network??
This device is a GSM device. No matter what you do, THIS WILL NOT WORK ON the SPRINT NETWORK. Which is CDMA btw...
This ain't gonna happen! And thread closed. |
