Stock Gingerbread on Shift. What's the latest?

What's the latest with running stock Gingerbread on the Shift? (without Sense)
I had the Tmobile G2 with stock Gingerbread for a few days and preferred it to Sense.

I thought we would have had a permanent root with stock ICS by now.
