new user (you may have seen this question before elsewhere)
i have an unrooted htc evo 4g, im interested in activation with metro pcs. i know from what ive read the data network wont work or will only work in a limited capacity (depending on who you ask) because of the lte/wimax discussion ive seen a hundred times. but it happens that im already a clearwire customer, and ive seen also that you can activate the 4g data network through them, so my question is this: can i activate the phone through metro pcs for phone service AND through clear for 4g to work in tamdem? i DO realize this would be less expensive to do just using sprints service, but currently sprint and i arent on speaking terms and with the hotspot enabled it was like 30 bucks extra (so maybe not cheaper?). thanks for your response!

Im not sure you can get 4g to work at all. I believe you can get full data though. If you root i believe there are even roms made for metro on xda. |

apparently, clear and sprint use the same towers for 4g and clear will activate an evo via chat (providing you do a certain thing). i would be paying about 80 a month for both services so maybe thats comparable to sprint, havent checked their prices lately... but does anyone know if data info is carrier specific to the phone carrier? or if theres some way to do it?

You should ask this on xda too. |
