Bought a EVO with a balance (locked ESN)
 

I bought a EVO Phone from craigslist with a dirty ESN. I cant not transfer to my sprint account because there's a balance due on this phone. I just want to replace my Blackberry with this evo on my Sprint account. what should i do????

there's not a whole lot.. whenever you buy a phone, you should call sprint and check the esn before you exchange any money for it. you can try calling sprint, but i highly doubt they'll do anything for you. only thing you can really do is go back to the seller (good luck), or sell it for parts on ebay or craigslist... or you can do the immoral thing and sell it on craigslist again and hope the future buyer doesn't check the esn.

Deathtrip at Howard Forums has an esn checker he compiled for most providers. The link is in his sig or you can look in the boost cdma and android threads.
Edit- Also there are a few companies that can fix bad esn's but they aren't cheap.

It's a long shot, but call Sprint and explain the situation and see what they tell you, it is the Christmas season after all and maybe you will talk to someone that can do something for you, or point you in the right direction, won't hurt to ask.
