i can't play pandora on 3g. if im near a wireless i can play pandora.

I can use pandora just fine on 3g. Maybe your on the edge of the signal area. I did notice if I don't have a relatively strong signal pandora buffers sometimes.

Try to update you profile and PRL. sometimes that allows me to get faster speeds and will let Pandora actually play.

You can do that by going to home/menu/about phone/software updates. I think you have to be using an HTC Sense rom though.
