Any program to configure hard buttons?

Basically I'd like to eliminate the previous app list that comes up when you hold the homw button down. And if possible switch it to something else. How do I go about doing so? I'm on Miks sense 3.0 rom if thats needed. Thanks for any help.

The only "hard" buttons on the HTC EVO 4G are the VOL-UP, VOL-DOWN, and POWER buttons.

The Home, Menu, Back, and Search buttons are soft buttons. They use the "touch" screen interface.

Go to the Market and search for "Home button" and you'll find a number of apps like what you're looking for. I recommend "Home2 Shortcut" it allows you to re-program the buttons on the bottom of the screen to launch applications, or perform other functions. This app uses 'double taps' of the buttons to perform the programmed function, I'm not sure if it also uses the 'hold-down' method or not, but give it a look!

Re: Any program to configure hard buttons?

My dad has a similar issue with his Desire -- would like to change the volume down button to anything else (volume up?) -- if he puts phone in holster without being locked, the volume down button hits a seam in the leather, and just turns the volume down all the way. It only happens everyonce in a while, but always when he is expecting a call, it seems. I figured if we could switch the buttons, if the seam hit it, it would just crank up the volume.

-Any ideas? Does the the home2shortcut work on hard buttons?
