Are they phone contacts or google contacts? If they're linked with gmail, go on the web and delete them there.

Yeah like kevmo said I would check to see if you are storing the contacts on the phone or google and make sure that your syncing the phone after you delete them if they are google and then to also log onto google and see if they are there or gone.

You also might want to check to see what other contacts may be syncing with other services. (i.e.: Exchange, Facebook, Yahoo, etc...)


Presss HOME,
Press PEOPLE,
Press MENU,
Press VIEW

Uncheck those that you do not want to sync/display...
