Wimax notifer stopped working... Did this happen to you
 

Was using Wimax notifer. Right light on evo to notify me of text messages. Did new update to gingerbread 2.3 and stopped working. If this happened to anyone and if they have the update or link to download new version please post.. appreciated

Its built from froyo framework thats why is stopped working when you went to GB

Weird - I used WiMax notifier with my rooted froyo. Flashed the 2.3 gingerbread OTA rooted zip and WiMax notifier still works for me.

Mine stopped blinking the LED. I still get the pop up message "Wimax notifier started" though. No LED. Re-install did not help. That blows.

Same here for me... After gb update, doesn't work.

If someone can hunt down the files and get them to me I wouldnt mind taking this up as a development project. I'm learning honeycomb and doing some tablet development right now, so dabbling here would be a good learning experience.

Just busy at work so I dont have time to scour out the net for all of the wimax notifier stuff. I have the dev stuff already.

Admiral688 - I just joined after finding your post via a Google search. I've attached the last working build of WiMax Notifier that I had. This was one of Noxious Ninja's test builds from mid-January (I was beta testing for him over at XDA), though I'm pretty sure it's the same as his final release from late January. It worked so well, I never bothered to upgrade to the official release build (if it isn't broken, why fix it?!? LOL)

If you are up to the challenge, I know that I and a lot of other stock Gingerbread Evo users would be very grateful. Thank you. :)

Thanks guys! I'll take a little bit to get my new laptop built for development (just got the new one last week) and I'll see if I can give this a whirl. I'm guessing that I just have to re-compile it initially for the new library and I'll see where that goes!

I'm off to crash the server.......wish me luck! ;-)

Thanks! Just got the source checked out of the SVN to check it out at work. Its not a big program by any stretch of the imagination.

Does anyone remember where this initially broke? Did it work with the last iteration of Froyo? (I used it before, but its been awhile).

Are you all running stock, or custom roms? Obviously its not working on Gingerbread.

(BTW Hit Thanks! for some encouragement :-) That way we get the lurkers too! )

This stopped working with the update to 2.3.3. From what I have read, it sounds like the permissions have changed that allow access to the LEDs. This still works for people that are rooted. Its unrooted people (like myself) that are SOL... Even Handcent lost the ability to control the regular notification light without root...

Not as of yet. I'm still learning here :-)
Got it to compile on 2.2, but having issues with gingerbread. I may take it with me on vacation to work on during my downtime. Cant promise anything or else the wife will kill me ;-)
