Remote Desktop Help

Ok guys, i need some help. You guys are some of the smartest people i know. So here's the deal. I have a problem with connecting to my computer when im not on the same network. As long as im on the wifi network that my computer is on then i can connect no problem.
So here's what i got

Im using a router and so the router has a different ip addy for the computer than the computer actually uses.

So for example my router has my ip address as 192.168.0.2 and when i go to say ipchicken it says 67.41.247.8 I have already told my router to open a port for it but when i go to connect it just times out.

My question is for the host do i need to have 192.168.0.2/67.41.247.8 and for the user do i need to have the usernameofrouter/usernameofcomputer and rouerpassword/admin password? im just having a heck of a time and i have looked through everything i can think of. i know someone out there has it working and i just wanted to know how!!!! Any help is appreciated!!

You may have to provide us with those user names and passwords. LOL.

I'm just messing with you bro.

Consider this a bump.
I hope you get someone that can help you here soon. Cuz I have never used remote desktop features on my EVO. I did download Pocket Cloud but have yet to try it out.

What everyone else said..BUT if RDP is what you want then here is your answer..

192.168.0.2 <- anything that starts with 192.168.x.x is LOCAL aka when on same network...67.41.247.8 looks more like your remote IP...

Now, judging that your connecting fine via wifi but having issues via remotely its most likely tour router firewall..you would have to also open up the port on your router and port forward that port to the appropriate pc..or setup a DMZ for it..

I feel your pain bro. It took me forever to figure out how to use RDM but once it's up and going it awesome! Also you won't need wifi to connect. Your 67.xxx.xxx.xxx ip address is the one you put in for "computer" and of course your login username and password. Now you have make sure you have port 3389 forwarded on your router. To learn how to do that go to Port Forwarding Guides Listed by Manufacturer and Model - PortForward.com You might also have to set up a static ip address. It's also explained at the previously mentioned site. Best of luck!

Re: Remote Desktop Help

First setup port forwarding on your router to point to your PC. Forward port 3389 to 192.168.0.3 (or whatever your pc is. start/ run/cmd <enter> ipconfig <enter>) now IPCHICKEN says u r 67.41.247.8 so try that now.

Re: Remote Desktop Help

ok so this is what i have tried.

I forwarded port 192.168.1.248:3389 on my router.

I took My WHOLE firewall down

VNC says my ip is 192.168.1.150

ip chicken says my ip is 173.18.191.250

Also i took my ip from dynamic to static

I activated RD on my computer, i Created a username and Password.

i have tried every combination and it just times out.
