Re: Sprint Repair

Well, it turns out it is all about who you know. My dad knew someone at another Sprint store, so I had him take my phone in and they ordered a replacement for me. Now the wait without a phone that work begins. Hopefully it is a quick process!

I had called Sprint after I went to the corporate store to have it looked at. The store put a "Damaged Beyond repair" block on the phone, so they were not able to do anything over the phone.

Re: Sprint Repair

I had the exact same problem a few days ago....we actually i dont think my EVO was dubbed "beyond repair". They gave me a NIB EVO in about 30 mins. Im in Houston and went to a repairs store. But then again it could have been the same issue and I just got lucky...with big yellow who knows?

Re: Sprint Repair

My daughter just dropped and shattered my screen yesterday and I called sprint and they said its going to be $100 to replace the screen. I've read plently of post that said they got theirs replaced for free. So im a Gold member now and im going to see what I can do to get that lowered lol. But before I call the number above im going to go to a local repair shop and see how much they charge to replace the screen. $30 isn't nothing so I would gladly pay that.

Re: Sprint Repair

I had the same issue back in February and I took my phone into my local Sprint Store and they performed some basic test right in front of me and about 10 minutes later, they had a new phone ordered for me. I guess I really lucked out. The charging port was DOA and they didn't hesitate to order me a new phone. I hope I get the same luck if this issue happens again, which it probably will. By that time, hopefully I'll have my new EVO 3D so no major worries!

Any crack in an LCD that is one inch or longer is considered Damaged Beyond Repair. "Shattered" would fall under that.

This is true. They have changed their policy. I got a free replacement screen when mine shattered before they change their policy. It was free. That policy is different now and all shattered lcd screens or digitizers will be referred to assuron and will no longer be replaced in the store. This is old news.(old news is over two weeks old in tech terms)

I think you guys are confusing the new policy from verizon with the sprint policy. The sprint policy will cover cracked screens. My friend had his evo screen replaced once at the store and another time they just ordered him a new one. The sprint repair policy is still the best policy around. If you don't have the insurance for only $35 they will fix or replace for most problems except water damage and really bad physical damage.
