EVO 4G and other Sprint phones to get Gingerbread per HTC

I hope its a version similar to the EVO 3D that I've seen on youtube. It looks great in my book as well as the updated Sense UI.

Here are the link I just read from the EVO forum on HTC site. A few of the owners said the HTC rep said it'll drop the 2nd quarter of 2011 which is next month till July.

This belongs in general, not development..moved

The catch? HTC does not intend to push out the update until at least one flagship smart phone sporting Google’s new OS reaches store shelves. This is to ensure that customers do not hold back from purchasing newly announced devices. Once at least one Gingerbread smart phone reaches consumers, HTC will release the upgrade for their older Android models.
exactly as I predicted >.>

Do you even know what I predicted? lol..I said they won't release the upgrade until AFTER a phone come out with it..and its not shocking..Motorola did same thing and etc...

That said my predictions have never once been wrong (to which I'd admit to ;) )

Hey, it is about time. Cripe, all HTC has to do is take one of the hacked Rom and pass it off as their own. Our hackers have already did their job, dontcha know.

Gingerbread is coming along well without an official update so not too worried about the time frame of release.

Most people that have gb now though have that pesky awake issue. Hope HTC has it sorted out

Cooler than your EVO

I was using a GB rom (Deck's) and didn't have any problems. Is the issue not being able to wake the phone up once the screen sleeps? Specific apps that it happens in?
