I'm getting 7.44 down and 1.5 up on my 802.11n router with my Evo. Very similar to what I get in the parking lot at work with 4g.

Well we know Sprint has the speed on Wimax capped. Maybe it's not capped on the network side, but on the device? And maybe that cap is across the whole device, WiFi and all?

The fastest I have ever got on my Evo was 8 megs down and 1 meg up over Wimax. I never get anywhere near that anymore, I get around 4 megs down and 1 meg up on a good day.

I have a screenshot somewhere of my 12 mbps down. I dont use 4g because of the battery drain and the device lag. Has anyone found a fix to the lag yet? When I have it on, it feels like my TP

Device lag with 4G on was fixed in an update a while ago. Maybe you need to flash a new ROM or something?

Maybe its tower related? prob confirm with people in your area?

I know my phone doesn't lag on 4g but that doesn't really count...

It's not your phone. Connected to my work's wireless (via G), I get 13 down and 6 up.

Hmmm, not sure what it could be. I had that lag too until an update a while back fixed it. Try OMJ or Sprint Lover's ROMs. I have used both of them with no lag.
